What’s in your “Motherhood” Toolkit?
--
I can’t believe COVID-19 is still here. We are in August for crying out loud.
The entire year has been a doozy, and I don’t ever want to repeat 2020 or anything like it again. We desire and pray for better months and years ahead.
In all of the craziness that is 2020, one segment of society that felt the pain quite acutely were parents, and if we are honest, MOTHERS.
And as we get ready to go back to school as distance learners and homeschoolers…I am glad that this month’s toolkit is focused on Mothers.
The phrase IMPERFECTLY PERFECT sums up my interpretation of August’s share. Three amazing women share how they navigate through motherhood and the themes are grace and patience.
Let’s get to it!

Tools: Intentional + Purpose, Present and Patience
Everything has a purpose, and as a child of God, I believe God has us here to serve a purpose. Our stories and lives are puzzle pieces in the masterpiece of his work. My children were given to me for a purpose. I believe my role is to guide and lead them to become responsible adults that love the Lord, people, and themselves. I try not to usher them in the path I wish I had taken; but rather teach about the mistakes I have made. If I teach them how to Love, then I think God will be proud. So, everything I do is with intention, of showing them love and how they can show love.
As a busy mother, it’s very easy for everyone to sit in their own silos when we are at home. The relationship between the mother and children suffers when we don’t spend time with each other. Children spell love as T-I-M-E. It is not enough to be in the presence of my children, but to be PRESENT with them by giving them my attention. Although I am a busy professional and entrepreneur, I do my best to spend moments with each of my children where they have my undivided attention. I am intentionally present and have the children scheduled for alone times with me.
